Only Eight Days Left

We are only eight days away from the big weekend. The ArkGeo Events committee along with many others have been working hard to insure that this will be a great geocaching weekend for everyone.

We will be at the State Park on Friday morning beginning around 10 am and could use a few more volunteers to help set up the event tent. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated and once the tent is set up there are plenty of caches nearby to go find.

I also wanted to post a note to remind everyone to bring their folding chairs with them so they may be more comfortable.

And if you would like to bring a side dish or dessert to go with lunch that would be great also. If you would like to bring something just send me an email letting me know what you will be bringing and I will post it to the cache page and here so everyone does not bring the same items.

Thanks, ArkGeo Events Committee

Events Schedule

The Arkansas Geocachers Association is holding our 2009 annual meeting Saturday June 6th at Lake Ouachita State Park

We will have three events for this weekend. Be sure to check out the Event pages on Geocaching.com

GC1N9D3 ArkGeo 2009 Annual Meeting
GC1N9EJ ArkGeo Hot Dog Roast and Campout
GC1N9DZ ArkGeo 2009 CITO - Lake Ouachita State Park

The event was held last year at Lake Catherine State Park and was a great success. This year promises to be even better. The folks at Lake Ouachita State Park are very excited to help us in hosting this event. We will have a large tent set up next to the visitors center and camping will be available adjacent to the event area.

Registration will begin at 8 am with a full day of activities planned. We will have the GeoBingo, closest to the pin contest, and some type of cache run. (check back here for more activities to be added as plans are finalized)

Lunch will be served at Noon. The Association will provide cold cuts and all the fixins, soft drinks, and water. If anyone wants to bring a desert or side dish to share, that would be greatly appreciated.

At 1:30 we will all gather under the tent for our
General membership meeting to include awards presentations, introduction of newly elected board members, and everyone's favorite part - The Prizes.

The meeting/event should conclude around 3pm but don't everybody run off because we will be having the Hot Dog Roast and Campout beginning at 7pm. So stick around enjoy some stories by the campfire and possibly go out for a group night caching trip.

Sunday morning we will gather again for our Cache In Trash Out event at 8 am to help clean up the park to show our appreciation for their support of geocaching.

Everyone mark your calendars now for this weekend of geocaching fun.
We'll see you there.
